Ethnic Moods evolved from a small retail outlet named AWSB Marketing, with mainly rattan furniture on sale. That was in 1994 when it was founded by Mr Alwee Althagib.

In 1996, Ethnic Moods was established. Mr. Thagib started importing teakwood furniture to Singapore and the regional market in Asia. He ended up being constantly disappointed by the inferior quality of fabrication and finishing that Ethnic Moods received. Believing that customer satisfaction is of utmost importance, he made the decision that the only way to meet the needs of people for high quality furniture was for Ethnic Moods to take over the production process itself.

Today, Ethnic Moods has operations in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and exports to various countries in Asia, Europe, Middle East and America. Our natural fine finished furnishings are becoming increasingly popular and are widely accepted internationally.

Ethnic Moods furniture are best known for its uniqueness, simplicity and comfort. The ethnic designs are a mixture of Oriental Chinese, Javanese and Western concepts. They come in three tones, i.e. Dark, Medium and Natural.

Teakwood furniture is our trademark. Teakwood's natural grains exhibited in the mature teaks impart a natural beauty that blends in well with our colonial designs. Being termite-proof, the hardy teakwood also usually outlives its owner, enhancing in value and beauty over time.
